Welcome to The Golden Dash Shoppe. A lot of time and patience has gone in to creating this shop. I hope to create items for you that will make you smile. Here is a little backstory to how it all began. We had just lost our Golden Retriever, Cody. He was both a blessing and a curse but we loved him with our entire hearts. He was an amazing family dog but he had an appetite that always got the best of him. He was notorious for stealing food. He was lightning fast and had a special knack for stealing homemade pepperoni rolls. Whenever I baked them, somehow he ended up with one, no matter how careful we were. Losing him was devastating to our family. After his passing, I stumbled upon a poem by Linda Ellis called, The Dash. If you are unfamiliar with it, it is about someone speaking at a funeral. The man talks about how a person’s birth date and death date are marked on a tombstone but how what really matters is the dash between the dates. Cody lived his dash to the fullest and went after whatever he wanted. I decided that Cody had left me with a beautiful lesson. Go after what you want and don’t let anything stand in your way. The idea of The Golden Dash Shoppe was born. Thank you Cody for inspiring me. Thank you for taking the time to read my backstory.
